Video, 65’48”
Shown as part of “Just as people whom nothing moves or touches are taught to cry again,” a two-person exhibition with Mikio Saito at Gallery Inukai, Sapporo, Japan, 27. August – 1. September, 2014.
Over the course of a couple weeks, a large sign above a supermarket in Sapporo, Japan, was occupied as an inconspicuous place from which to photograph customers. These images were printed out and pasted up inside the sign, and video was then taken, documenting a comparison of the photographic profiles to those caught on video. A bed and residues of consumption were also installed inside the sign, giving the impression of an extended stay.
